Bala, Muskoka, is where L. M. Montgomery was inspired to write The Blue Castle during her visit in 1922. The tourist home Montgomery dined in during her holiday has been converted into a museum, with artifacts from the movies, Montgomery’s life, and a large collection of foreign bookcovers.
