Address: Route 20, Park Corner
The L. M. Montgomery Heritage Museum was the home of Montgomery’s grandfather, Senator Montgomery, whom she loved to visit. The museum also calls itself “Ingleside”, suggesting that perhaps Ingleside was based on this house.
The museum contains several items in The Story Girl: the china fruit basket, and the pulpit stone. Anne’s china dogs, Gog and Magog (Gog was unfortunately broken in the 1990s) are also found in this museum.
“Wyther Grange” in Emily of New Moon is based on an old house that used be on this site.
A side path from the museum, called “The Alpine Path”, leads to the Lake of Shining Waters.
