L. M. Montgomery was raised in Cavendish by her grandparents. Although the original building no longer remains, the trees, gardens and woodland lanes she wrote of have been lovingly restored by Montgomery’s relatives. The Site of L. M. Montgomery’s Cavendish Home is a tranquil site, with explanatory signs denoting lanes and landmarks.
